IDIOMS & PROVERBS

                                                                                        SNUG AS A BUG IN A RUG MEANS: in an extremely comfortable position or situation. Example: My   daughters   are   all   snug   as   a   bug   in   a   rug   watching   a   movie   together.

                                                       "WHERE THERE IS A WILL, THERE'S A WAY" MEANS:   If you are  desperately willing and effort assertively towards something than you will overcome all difficulties and succeed in the end EXAMPLE: I have no doubt that Bob will find a publisher for novel .Where there's a will there's a way.

" DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER"  MEANS: Don't judge people (or for that matter, places or things) solely on their appearance. IN SENTENCE: He seems really short to be a basketball player but after two decades coaching I've learned to not judge a book by its cover.

AS OLD AS THE HILLS   MEANS: Extremely old IN SENTENCE: Everybody knows that story. It's "as old as the hills".

                                  "A BARREL OF LAUGH" MEANS: A fun thing, situation or person. Someone or something enjoyable IN SENTENCE: We loved the film yesterday. It was a real"barrel of laugh".

" Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" MEANS: "Everyone has their own ideas of what is beautiful" EXAMPLE1: You may not like my new jacket but beauty is in the eye of the beholder EXAMPLE2: I can't believe he finally settled for that ugly little car and he loves it too! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

To squirrel away Means: to put (smthg) in a safe or secret place especially so that it can be kept for future use (like a squirrel collects nuts for the winter) EXAMPLE1: She squirrelled away money from her paycheck each month to buy a new car EXAMPLE2: Lots of  kids squirrelled away their halloween candy in a safe spot so they can eat it in future days
