to put (smthg) in a safe or secret place especially so that it can be kept for future use






(like a squirrel collects nuts for the winter)




EXAMPLE1:

EXAMPLE2:

Lots of  kids squirrelled away their halloween candy in a safe spot so they can eat it in future days
